Meet the Author – M R Thoreson

Saturday, May 10, 11am-1pm. Meet author M R Thoreson; she’ll have books for sale and signing.

About the Books:

The Winter Wrath, Blue Heart Troll explains why Carol, half indigenous, must leave her husband because of his habits and abuse. She must leave her car because the husband keeps her car keys. So, she and her 3 children take a cab to catch the bus to Waco, TX, to stay with her mother and husband, who is indigenous. Carol is a dream seer and can hear the guy downstairs mentally talking to her. But she tries not to let him know. She can also receive his filthy sexually explicit images, if she dozes. Then, Carol meets a great landlord who rents to her and gives her a job. (They eventually become friends.) He doesn’t believe she’s being harassed by the young man in the middle apartment. She lives in the top apartment, while two indigenous girls move into the basement apartment. Claine, the boy below her, starts out slow trying to get into her head. Then, he starts sending up images when she dozes in the hope she’ll partake in ceiling sex. He rams the ceiling more and more until finally, he’s sometimes keeping her up all night. One night, about 5 am, he mentally rapes her with cues. But it’s the young girls who get traumatized eventually, while Carol and a handyman, who works on the apartments, starts following Claine because one of the indigenous girls has been kidnapped.

He starts teaching her what a Troll does for entertainment. To her horror, her days become tortured with his sexual tricks. But Hudson enters her life again to save her. 1. Helping Mud Love Troll Stand Out as a Bold & Unforgettable Story

    Dear M. R. Thoreson,

Mud Love Troll is unlike anything else in today’s market, a daring, thought-provoking blend of psychological tension, mythological fantasy, and deeply human themes. It pushes boundaries by introducing the concept of an Autistic Troll, weaving together dream-seer visions, folklore, and raw human struggle in ways that defy convention.

Dixie’s story, haunted by a troll neighbor whose disturbing games test her endurance, and redeemed by Hudson’s re-entry into her life, creates a narrative that is both unsettling and strangely empowering. Readers looking for something outside the norm will find themselves unable to put it down, intrigued by its originality and boldness.

Here’s how Mud Love Troll could be positioned to reach its audience:

Targeted Outreach to Niche & Experimental Fiction Communities
    • Introduce the book to readers who enjoy dark, boundary-pushing literature that blends myth with psychological themes.
    • Connect with forums, blogs, and groups that focus on experimental, indie, and visionary fiction.

    Emphasizing Its Groundbreaking Elements
    • Highlight the originality of the “Autistic Troll” concept, presenting it as a symbolic and fresh lens through which to explore identity, trauma, and resilience.
    • Use visuals and campaigns that juxtapose the ordinary (a historic apartment) with the extraordinary (the Troll and dream-seer visions).

    Generating Curiosity & Word-of-Mouth
    • Build intrigue through reviews and discussions that underscore the novel’s uniqueness and unflinching approach to difficult themes.
    • Position it alongside other works of transgressive or experimental fiction to attract adventurous readers.

    M. R., Mud Love Troll is not just a book, it’s a bold statement, an invitation to step into a story that refuses to play by the rules. With the right push, it can intrigue, challenge, and spark conversation among readers hungry for something truly different.

I’d love to partner with you to help amplify this one-of-a-kind work and ensure it finds its audience.
