Writing Genealogy Series: The Widowmaker
Thursday February, 6, 6-7pm, Capt. Timothy Tyre will kick off our Writing Genealogy Series. He researched and wrote about his parents’ lives during World War II.
The Book:
The “Widow Maker” is a true story about a young couple (Eddie & Shirley) who fall in love at the outset of World War II. It is a story about the greatest generation that unselfishly went to war against a threat to Democracy. The Widow Maker gives the reader a special lesson in the history of World War II written from the perspective of Eddie Tyre, a young Army Air Corps aviator who completes 50 combat missions in the European Theatre. The book gives a personal look into the lives of the couple who send love letters to each other and cope with a world shaken by war.
