A Poet Poets: Roy McBride Film Viewing

Thursday June 1, 6-7pm. Don Roberts will show “A POET POETS: ROY McBRIDE.” It is a half-hour film of the poetry of Roy McBride.

This film has been created by Mike Hazard, Mike Rivard, Paul Bernhardt, Jeff Sylvestre, Blue Moon and Les Skoropat with support from Lucinda Anderson, Lacinea Tyler McBride, Traffic Street Press, David Rich, Paulette Myers-Rich, Wet Paint, Pragmactic, Electric Jet Interactive, Map for Nonprofits, Cashel Fund, Taleeh Foods, Heart of the Beast Theatre, Minnesota State Arts Board and Bush Foundation. It is dedicated to the memory of Paul Tirrell. It is a video tribute to the premier African-American poet of the Twin Cities.

Roy McBride comes from Arkansas and then he came north for employment in Michigan. Then he moved to Minnesota to become the best known African-American poet out of Minneapolis and the Twin Cities.

Roy’s wife, Lucinda Anderson and daughter Lacinea Tyler McBride along with Michael Hazard have been invited to attend. Don Roberts will also have a copy of Roy’s book “Secret Traffic” for your perusal.
